COMMERCE — Mattie Marie Moore, 79, of Commerce died Jan. 9, 2007, at HEB Hospital in Bedford. A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 5, 1927, in Lamesa, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mattie Bussell Ruggles. She married Rev. James W. Moore, a Baptist preacher; he preceded her in death. She was a house mother for Chi Omega at Texas A&M University-Commerce for 11 years and also served as a house mother at West Texas State University and Stephen F. Austin.
Mrs. Moore was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors are two sons, Larry Moore and wife Jackie of Watagua and Kerry Moore and wife Robin of Weatherford; two grandchildren, Michael Lee Moore and Kelsey Moore; four great-grandchildren, Shelbi Moore, Jared Moore, Brachelle Burk and Braley Burk; and three sisters, Cleo Jones, Theda Crawford and Berneice Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and six brothers and sisters.
