Melba LaDean Webb Riddels

Melba LaDean Riddels, 80, of Celeste died August 22, 2007, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She graciously donated her body to science. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, September 4, 2007, at Higher Trails Cowboy Church, 5544 Farm Road 903 (FM 903 and FM 2194) in Merit with Gary Smart, her nephew, officiating.

All friends, relatives and acquaintances are welcome to attend. Dress is casual at the Cowboy Church.

Melba was born May 24, 1927, in Velma, Oklahoma, to Lonnie and Bessie Pruitt Webb. She married Myron “Red” Riddels on November 18, 1950, in Henrietta, Texas. Melba loved to take pictures and make scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed all kinds of needlework and crafts and was a master seamstress.

Survivors are her husband, Red Riddels, of the home; two daughters, Peggy Armstrong of Cedar Park and Kayle (Debby) Marshall of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; four grandchildren, J. D. Armstrong of Austin, Anton Bartels of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Roxanne Zatika of Washington, New Jersey, and Robert Travis Walsh of Quinlan; two great-grandsons, Seth Walsh and Dylan Walsh of Lubbock; two brothers, Donald (Stella) Webb of Belton and Ronnie (June) Webb of Greenville; a brother-in-law, Pete Smart of Duncan, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Maurine (Alford) Jackson of Salton City, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judy Bartels; granddaughter Sunna Leigh Morgan; a brother, Louie Webb; two sisters, LaVerne “Penny” Smart and Oneta Talley; and sons-in-law Dennis Armstrong and Robert “Bob” Bartels.

Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family requests no flowers be sent.
