Mrs. Wilbur Ruff
Mrs. Wilbur Ruff of the Hickory Creek neighborhood was killed last week by lightning. Mrs. Ruff was sitting in front of the fireplace when the bolt came, killing her instantly.
Great damage was reported from all parts of the county from heavy rain and the residence of D. N. Myrick of Ladonia was struck by lightning and set on fire and damaged. (May 31, 1907, The Greenville Messenger) Submitted by Sarah Swindell
