Oreta Fulton Watson

WOLFE CITY — Oreta Fulton Watson, 96, of Greenville died September 3, 2007, at her home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 6, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with the Rev. John Hailes and Bobby Dale Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, September 5, 2007, at the funeral home.

The daughter of William Cade O'Neal and Sarah Lemendar White O’Neal, she was born February 13, 1911, in Jacobia, Hunt County. On December 23, 1927, she was married to William Manferd Watson; he preceded her in death on December 12, 1977.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Honey Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors are four daughters, Frankie Gregory of Greenville, Marie Collins of Dallas, Nancy Parsons of Wolfe City, and Deborah Martin of Greenville; eight sons, Glenn Watson of Wolfe City, Dewey Watson of Greenville, Joe Allen Watson of Seagoville, Don Watson of Wolfe City, Jerry Watson of Wolfe City, Medford Watson of Neylandville, Danny Watson of Wolfe City, and Darrell Watson of Georgetown; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchldren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Evirt O’Neal; and three sisters, Etta Dunnbar, Myrtle Shipp, and Ima Frith.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.
