Infant Son Owen
Funeral services were held at the Valley Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, January 2, 1954, at 3:30 PM for the infant son of Captain and Mrs. Tom H. Owen who was born early Saturday morning, January 2, 1954.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Earl Allen, Baptist preacher of Celeste. Burial as in the Valley Creek Cemetery with Wilson Funeral Home of Leonard in charge of arrangements. Pallbearer was Thomas Blacketer.
Captain Owen is now stationed in Formosa while Mrs. Owen makes her home with her mother, Mrs. D. L. Johnson of Celeste. The Captain was advised of his son's death and a reply telegram reached Mrs. Owen before the funeral service.
Survivors, besides the parents, include the maternal grandmother, Mrs. D. L. Johnson of Celeste; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Owen of Leonard; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Owen and Mrs. Rebecca Dorsett of Leonard; and a number of other relatives.
