Rev. Fordie Willis, 81, of Rowlett died Feb. 13, 2007. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, 1233 HIghway 66 in Garland, with Rev. Terry McClister and Rev. Roy L. Willis Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Grundy Memorial Park in Greenville.

Son of Alvin and Rosie Chatman Willis, he was born April 19,1925, in Carbondale. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Rev. Willis was pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Caddo Mills for 44 years.

Survivors include children Dorsey Hill (Clint) of Garland, Billy Willis (Altheria) of Rowlett, Marie Duffey (Craig) of Garland, Odis Willis of Terrell, Willie Mae Rockwell of Lewisville, Glenn Willis of Garland, Rev. Roy Willis (Shirley) of Dallas, Patricia Moore of Houston, Wilma Willis of Wylie, Jennifer Scruggs of Terrell, Diane Turner (Darrell) of Hempstead, Timothy Willis of Rowlett and Terri Wesley (Eric) of Rockwall; 42 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donnie V. Turner and Veanna Stepney, both of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mamie Pumphrey Willis; a son, Fordie Willis Jr.; three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home of Greenville. A wake is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church in Caddo Mills.
