Rosalea Cunningham McNeely

SHERMAN — Rosalea Cunningham McNeely, 80-year-old bank teller, died October 6, 2007, at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. Funeral services are at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman with the Rev. Ronald Cantrell of Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline officiating. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Sullivan Cemetery southeast of Greenville.

There is no visitation, but family and friends may sign the register book and pay respects at Waldo Funeral Home prior to the service Wednesday.

Rosalea was born January 5, 1927, in Eastland County, daughter of Arthur Wade Cunningham and Julia Bethel Carloss Cunningham. She attended school in Celeste and was a graduate of Celeste High School in 1945.

On December 30, 1957, she was married to J. Lee McNeely at her sister Mildred’s home in Garland. Rosalea was a teller at banks in Celeste and Greenville before working as a bank teller for Grayson County State Bank in Sherman for fifteen years, retiring in 1968.

Following her retirement she became a full-time housewife and homemaker, caring for her husband and son. She also loved the times spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed antiquing, and she was a member of North Park Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Shaun McNeely and Denise McNeely of Sherman; a granddaughter, Samantha McNeely; grandson Cody McNeely; brothers Wade Cunningham, Gene Cunningham, and Lee Cunningham and wife Delma Cunningham; a sister, Mildred Sheppard; and a brother-in-law, Elmer McNeely and his wife Mary McNeely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Wayland Cunningham and A.W. Cunningham; and a sister, Ruth Cunningham.
