Evelyn M. Saffold

Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Leonard for Miss Evelyn M. Saffold, 43, who died on Thursday, March 31, 1955, in Allen Memorial Hospital in Bonham after an extended illness.

The Rev. Robert Ridley of Dallas, the Rev. Jimmie Heflin, and the Rev. A. R. Morgan conducted the services. Burial was in the Leonard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ralph Braddy, Dee Hunter, Earnest Berry, Paul Manning, Dick Saye, and Laute Nichols.

A native of the Lane community in Hunt County, Miss Saffold was born on March 12, 1912, and was the daughter of W. H. Saffold of Leonard and the late Mrs. Saffold and a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Handley of Leonard.

For many years, Miss Saffold a member of the Lane Methodist Church.

Besides her father, she is survived by a brother, Dr. James A Saffold of Des Plaines, Illinois; four nephews, Johnny Saffold, Richard Saffold, Donny Saffold, and Robert Saffold. She was a niece of Dr. J. J. Handley and Mrs. Belle Caldwell of Greenville.
