Sonja Louise (Wright) Morton was born March 4, 1964, to the parentage of Nina Rose Williams and William Wright in Greenville. She attended Greenville High School and was a member of Mount Elem Baptist Church. She departed this life on April 12, 2006. Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Nina Rose Williams; her father and stepmother, William and JoAnne Wright; a son, Brandon Morton; sisters Dwana Mumphrey (Harold), Chanda Miles (Tim) and Robin Henry; stepsiblings Sandra Smith (Paul), Richard Williams and Claudis Wayne Williams (Teresa); special aunts Amelia Grant and Helen Grant (Ronny); and grandmothers Vera Wright and Junie Traylor Jones. She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Mary Morton; her stepfather and two aunts. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial will be at Grundy Memorial Park. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Grace & Mercy Funeral Home.
