Stanley Morris Marak, 72, of Greenville died the evening of Sept. 6, 2006, at his residence. A rosary is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. William’s Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. William’s Catholic Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Father Paul Weinberger will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills. Son of Frank J. and Agnes Gerik Marak, he was born July 29, 1934, in West. He graduated from West High School in 1953 and received an associate’s degree from Navarro Junior College in 1958, then graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1960 from North Texas. Mr. Marak served in the U.S. Army. On April 21, 1972, he married Sandra Talley Butler in Greenville. He was co-owner of East Texas Paving Company with his partner John T. Marek from 1965 to 2002. Mr. Marak was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church in Greenville, the VFW in West, Knights of Columbus in West and the Knights of Columbus in Greenville of which he was a past Grand Knight. Survivors are his wife of Greenville two daughters, Lori L. Butler of Greenville and Lachelle Johnson and husband Justin of Caddo Mills; grandchildren Jordan Johnson and Jacey Johnson of Caddo Mills; three brothers, Alfred Marak and Bobby Marak and wife Mary Ann, all of West, and Raymond Marak and wife Janie of Ennis; and four sisters, Evelyn Vrbas, Henrietta Snokhous, Helen Klish and Rose Kubacak and husband Charlie, all of West. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arthur Marak, Harry Marak and Frankie Marak; and two sisters, Edith Sulak and Molly Vanzura. Pallbearers will be John Marek, Toby Wilkinson, Gordon Jones, John Miller, Curtis Scott and Jerry Selter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Cegelski, Rudy Stefancik, Cliff Martin, Chuck Ollar, Charles Ranly, James Bland and nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
