Stanly Thomas, 74, of Greenville died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bob Layman and Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park. Mr. Thomas was born July 8, 1931, in Clinton; the son of Lawrence Stanly and Hattie Gentry Thomas. He married Sallye Jo Tucker on Feb. 16, 1952, in Greenville. Mr. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran; having served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was a surveyor with the Texas State Highway Department and a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lisa Thomas of Royse City; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Goodman of Mesquite; sisters and brother-in-law, Ardellia Jones of Lubbock and Helen and Erwin Ruggles of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Lorene Hoffman of Greenville and Bonnie Tucker of Clinton; grandchildren, Mitchell Thomas, Cameron Thomas and Caitlyn Thomas, all of Royse City, Stanly Goodman and wife Yujie of Greenville, Nancy Goodman Flournoy and husband Chris of Lufkin, and Bobby Goodman of Duncanville; and great-grandchild, William Thomas Flournoy of Lufkin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Fredna Weatherley, in 1991. Pallbearers are Stanly Goodman, Bobby Goodman, Chris Flournoy, Mitchell Thomas, James Ownby, Cameron Thomas and Bobby Tucker. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 4144 North Central Expressway, Suite 750, Dallas 75204. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
