Daisy Abba Macon Stewart

Funeral services were held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, January 2, 1955, at Bailey Baptist Church for Mrs. Walter Lee Stewart, 75, who died at 8:45 PM, Friday, December 31, 1954, in a Bonham hospital.

Services were conducted by the Rev. H. D. Freeman of Bailey, the Rev. Carroll Roberts of Greenville, the Rev. O. R. Carey of Bonham, and the Rev. William Robinson. Interment was in Grove Hill Cemetery with Wise Funeral Home of Bonham in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stewart, the former Miss Daisy Abba Macon, was born on July 27, 1879, in Tennessee. She and her husband resided at Bailey for many years. She was a member of the Bailey Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Hall Stewart and Roy Stewart, both of Lubbock, and Parnell Stewart of Bremerton, Washington; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Pack of Wolfe City, Mrs. Lois Bicknell of Irving, Mrs. Ollie Thornton of Celeste, and Mrs. Cleva Chapman of Hale Center.

Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Cora Jenkins and Mrs. Lou Sawyer of Lubbock, Mrs. Viola Stodgill of Long Beach, California; six brothers, Arthur Macon of Arkansas, J. P. Macon of Bovina, E. Macon of Hallettsville, Thomas Macon of Houston, Dave Macon of Long Beach California, and Moody Macon of Lubbock; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
