Mrs. Della E. Turney, 89, resident of Greenville for the past four years, died at 7:00 PM, Sunday, January 3, 1965, in a Greenville hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Sorrells & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Harrison Baker officiating.

Pallbearers were Albert Granberry, Harbert Byers, Garland Roach, Jimmie Norris, Carl Lacy, and Billy Joe Barnard.

Mrs. Turney was born January 3, 1876, in Hunt County, the daughter of N. J. Ewing and Nannie Atteberry Ewing.  She had resided in Celeste area most of her life.

A member of the Church of Christ, she married D. A. Turney on August 24, 1904.  He preceded her in death in 1928.

Survivors include a son, Dan Turney of Dallas; a grandson, Robert A. Turney of Houston; and one great-grandchild.
