FARMERSVILLE — Velma Elizabeth Smith, 97, of Farmersville died Feb. 20, 2007. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Miller McClure and Glen Nicholson officiating. Burial is in Merit Cemetery in Merit.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born May 16, 1909, in Merit, she was the daughter of Jackson Lucas and Alice Mae Reese McCrary. She was married to Albert Smith on June 10. 1928.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Farmersville.
Survivors are grandchildren Alicia Pitre of Nevada, Jimmy Smith of Farmersville and Larry Painter of Flower Mound; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
