Vester Langham, 90, of Terrell died April 23, 2007, at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at Peters Funeral Home Chapel at 4 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Terry Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at Merit Cemetery.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Celeste, son of George and Maddie McClanahan Langham. He married Ruby Holder on Nov. 20, 1939, in Hunt County. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a sister, Berma Taylor of Greenville; his nieces, Faye Bird and husband Harold, Jean Lipsey and husband Jimmy, all of Greenville, Joyce Brittain and husband Don of Double Oak, Dianne Langham of Grand Prairie, Susan Pontani and husband Vincent of Manassas, Va., and Ellen Bracy of Cumby; nephews Alfred Langham of Thomaston, Ga., Hank Jones and Stephen Holder, both of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Robert Holder of Richardson; sister-in-law Pauline Jones of DeSoto.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; children James Alton Langham and Billy Ray Langham; one brother; and one sister.

David Bird, Shane Bird, Harold Bird, Jim Winsett, and Robert Holder will serve as pallbearers.
