Palmer Braly Wallace

Palmer Braly Wallace, age 97, left us to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2008. Palmer was born April 20, 1910, in Leonard, Texas, to Bryon Benjamin Braly and Dora Green Braly. She attended school in Leonard and was graduated from high school in Denton, Texas. She received a degree in Home Economics from North Texas University, Denton in 1932. While there, she was President of the Green Jackets, college pep squad, and a college beauty. At college she met the love of her life, Morris S. Wallace. They were married May 29, 1932 and enjoyed sixty-two happy years together until his death in 1994.

She was happiest when she was with her loving family, as she devoted her life to them.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Collyar and husband, Ron Collyar, of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, Bob Collyar and Debbie Collyar and son, Isaac Collyar, of Blackhawk, California, Bill Collyar and Lori Collyar and daughters, Natalie Collyar and Brooke Collyar, of Plano, Beth Collyar, of Dallas, Barbara Collyar, of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and three brothers.

A memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Dr. Morris S. and Palmer B. Wallace Family Endowment, College of Education Development Office, Texas Tech University, PO Box 41071, Lubbock, TX 79409-1071, or to a favorite charity.
