Ruby Williams White

Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 1951, at the Baptist Church, Leonard, for Mrs. Ruby White, 48, and her twelve-year old son, Marion Dene White, who were victims of a traffic accident at Haltom City, near Fort Worth early Sunday, November 11, 1951.

Dr. Eugene Skelton, pastor and the Rev. Sam Smith, both of Leonard, conducted the service. Burial was in Burns Cemetery, with Wilson Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. White was born on November 16, 1902, in Kentucky a daughter of C. H. Williams and Louisa Jane Williams. She was married to Floyd E. White on March 19, 1933, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Eugene White, a twin brother to the wreck victim; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Williams of Trenton; four brothers, Roscoe Williams, Ruel Williams, Ranzy William, and Ralph Williams, all of Randolph; six sisters, Mrs. Rose Wall and Mrs. Ray Joiner of Dallas, Mrs. Roxie Bowman of Sundown, Mrs. Retha Stephenson, Mrs.Roberta Drasil, and Mrs. Rosalie Cry, all of California.

Marion Dene White was born on September 5, 1939 in Bonham. He is survived by his father; a twin brother, Eugene; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Williams of Trenton and Mr. and Mrs. R. A. White of Celeste; several aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

The mother and son were burned to death in a fiery crash which was the result of a collision of the White car and an old model car driven by an eighty-five year-old Fort Worth man. Mr. White, 43, Convair employee, and the surviving twin both suffered first and second degree burns.

Haltom City police have arrested the driver of the other car but no charges have been filed.

Haltom City firemen extinguished the burning car after the crash, but had to use aces to extricate the bodies of the two victims.

Both Mr. and Mrs. White are well-known in the Celeste area.

Mrs. White the former Ruby Williams was reared in the Lane community and Mr. White was a native of Celeste.
