Billy Ray Wright
Leonard--October 1, 1954 (Spl)--Billy Ray Wright, 31, of Houston and formerly of Leonard, was killed Thursday night, September 30, 1954, when his car left the highway and overturned near Huntsville.
Funeral services were held at the Leonard Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 2, 1954, with the Rev. William L. Danby of Dallas officiating. Burial was in the Leonard Cemetery.
Mr. Wright was born on July 16, 1923, at Leonard, the son of James P. Wright and Bonnie Bell Pledger Wright.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lois Annell (Annelle) Lacy, to whom he was married on March 18, 1945 in Florida; two children, Gordon Elliott Wright and Gayle (Karen Gail) Wright; his mother, Mrs. James Wright of Leonard; several brothers and sisters.
Graveside military rites were conducted by the Perrin Air Force Base of Sherman.
