Zola Faye Hughey Weatherford, 90, of Kaufman, formerly of Greenville and Garland, died early in the morning on April 19, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with James Hughey, Carol Walker, Phil Hughey, Joe Hughey and Charles McWatters officiating. Burial is at Forest Park Cemetery. Born May 13, 1915, in Point, she was the daughter of Charlie Parker and Edna Pearl Flewellen McWatters. She was married to Edmond Hughey on Sept. 15, 1932, in Emory. Mrs. Weatherford was a housewife and mother. She was a member of Kaufman Church of Christ. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe A. and Laverne Hughey of Marshall, Charles and Deding Hughey of Garland, and Phil and Rita Hughey of Peckville, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laska and Clemente Medina of Kaufman and Jacque and Kim McBride of Bertram; brother and sister-in-law Charles Floyd and Eloise McWatters of Boerne; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a baby daughter in 1941; her husband in 1960; her father in 1959; her mother in 1980; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Hughey in 1997; two brothers, Bill McWatters in 1973 and Bradford McWatters in 1980; and a sister, Jacque McWatters in 1942. Pallbearers are Kim McBride, Clemente Medina, Keith Hughey, Steve Hennessee, Don Hughey and Jim Bass. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses Association, 102 West Grove, Kaufman, 75142. Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
