Roster of Co G 12th Texas Cavalry

by Justin M. Sanders

TX Flag

The roster includes abstracts of Service Records for men with surnames beginning with A through L.  For men with surnames M through Z, Service Records have not yet been abstracted, so their names are obtained from the supplemental materials.  Supplemented with rosters published in Getzendaner and the Terrell Transcript (abbreviated TT) and other Kaufman County records.  Men who are known to have been from Kaufman County are indicated with a "star".

For the men with abstracted service records, "MI" stands for the original Muster-in roll, each subsequent muster roll was for a set of months (usually two), for example "J&F65" means the roll for Jan and Feb 1865.  The notation "enl 14 Oct 63 Camp H by HWK" means enlisted 14 Oct 1863 at Camp Hebert by H.W. Kyser.  Note: the roll "Sep 63-Jan64" is dated 4 Jan 65.
