Picture of the Dr. George A. Johnson Family was
previously Submitted to the Kith & Kin area.
Dr. Johnson practiced in the Abner area in the 1890's.
The 1880 Kaufman County Census lists George and his mother Evaline living
next to Dr. James E. Lindsey, his sponsor to the University of Louisville
Medical School which he attended in 1880-1884.

Sources:

George A. Johnson and Jennie O. Boykin listed in Kaufman
County Marriages for 1988, Book 4.
Dr. Johnson Obituary indicates he practiced in Kaufman County. Also
Polks' Medical and Surgical Directory of The United States lists G.
A. Johnson as practicing in Abner, Kaufman County, Texas.
The 1900 Kaufman County Census lists George A. & Jennie Johnson,
Mabel, Una, Robert, Buelah & Joseph, along with George's mother
Evaline.
The 1880 Kaufman County Census lists E. A. (should be A. E.) Johnson and

Comments:

Correction of Father's name. We recently found
information (1850 Pontotoc Co., MS census - Pontotoc County Marriage
Records) indicating Amelia Evaline's husband was James not P.H. Johnson.
See Amelia Evaline Ayres on the Thomas Eli Ayres Family Group Sheet and
the Amelia Evaline Ayres Family Group Sheet.

Sources:

1870, 1880 - 1890 Kaufman County Census lists George A.
Johnson as residing in Kaufman. See original sheet for more
information.
