Kaufman County, TX Look-ups offered by
Kathey Hunt and Linda Harwell

These look-ups (as well as everything offered on this site) are offered on a voluntary basis.  If a person offers their time and efforts to voluntarily contribute to this site, they always reserve the right to stop volunteering.  The volunteers' time is limited and they cannot spend hours on one person's request.   Requests for "all of the people" with the same family name would take hours to fill so they will NOT be answered; you must provide the person's first name in order to have your request answered.  Please be respectful to the volunteers and do not send harrassing e-mail to them as they may decide their time and efforts are better spent elsewhere.

Kathey Kelley Hunt is a Kaufman County Historical Commission member, Kaufman County historical researcher and early Kaufman County families researcher/genealogist.  Linda Harwell is a Member Emeritus of the Kaufman County Historical Commission; she is a published author of Kaufman County genealogy books and has contributed to other publications on the history of the county.  They have kindly volunteered to do LIMITED look-ups in the resources listed in the forms linked to, below.

Kathey and Linda do NOT do look-ups for any sources (including cemeteries) except the ones listed in their respective form.   Please do NOT send look-up requests to their e-mail addresses; if you do, they will not be answered.

They cannot look up Death records or Birth records nor can they get copies of Marriages certificates or Probate records or any other records from the courthouse -- all that must be ordered from the Kaufman County Clerk:

Kaufman County Clerk's Office
Courthouse on the Square
Kaufman, TX  75142
972-932-4331

Although Kathey and Linda work extensively on cemeteries in the County there is NOT a County-wide Index of where people are buried in Kaufman County - each cemetery has been enumerated individually.  If the person you are looking for died prior to 1903, they have no way of ascertaining WHEN a person died or WHERE they are buried.  However, if the person you are looking for died AFTER 1903, Kathey has this advise:  order a Death Certificate from the County Clerk -- the burial place is listed on 99% of the certificates.

Note that most of the cemetery enumerations are already posted on this website; you can search the cemetery records by going to the Kaufman County TXGenWeb Project Search Page or to Kaufman County Cemetery Central.
