Comments: Peter M. WINGO served in the Mexican War, 1846/1847. Enlisted June 6, 1846 at Benton Co., Alabama. He was injured at Camargo, Mexico and was discharged on May 25, 1847 at New Orleans, Louisiana. Peter was a private in Co. C, 31st Mississippi Infantry during the Civil War. His wife Elizabeth died near Kemp, Texas on December 26, 1878. He married Susan M. Rosenberry on October 23, 1881 at Egypt, Kaufman Co, Texas.
