A.B. VOGT HOUSE
124 Evergreen
DESCRIPTION: Tudor style rock house with a basement; small covered entry porch.
HISTORY: According to Garland A. Perry in his book Historic Images of Boerne, Texas, 1982the [Joe] "Vogts bought a tract of farm land along the south side of the Cibolo which joined the Dr. Ferdinand Herff ranch on its west side. This proved to be a wise investment as the land quickly appreciated in value." Later his son, Albert (A.B.), used a part of the place to develop the Evergreen Subdivision. The lots were laid out in two concentric rows on either side of a center parkway. This house was built for Albert B. Vogt and his wife, Lucy Glaze Vogt. They lived here many years using the basement playroom for entertaining their friends and family with parties -- and dances. After the couple died without children, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Phillip purchased the house and made it their home.
