HISTORY: This pioneer German style house was built about 1860.
There are various structures. An old adobe type "batchelors" quarters" is very
pioneer with log and fachwerk type fill-in with plaster/daub. The rock barn
converted into a large limestone one and one-half story residence with pitched
roof and dormer. The clapboard porch was added later. This is an old Schwarz
family homestead with a disturbed cemetery. Headstones were bulldozed and
changed in location along portion of Swede Creek.
Dr. Leon Kopecky owned the
property at the time this file was made.
