HISTORY: This house was built by Erich and Elizabeth Poehnert when they bought the 6.3 acres in 1933. Erich was born in Welfare and his family lived in the Wasp Creek community. When he married Elizabeth Heiligmann in 1910, they continued to live in Wasp Creek for many years, but eventually moved to Boerne. They lived in this house until January, 1969. Erich's obituary says he died in his home on January 4, 1969. His wife died in Kerrville a short time later, February 22, 1969. The property has changed hands repeatedly since that time. In this year of 2009 it is owned by an asset management company and will probably soon be developed for commercial purposes.
