Dr. Francis
Hamer NELSON, from Mississippi; 2 known children born in Kendall
County: Francis
John NELSON b: 3 Dec 1873 and James Frederick NELSON b: 20 Nov

Elisabeth that
married a William L. HENDERSON in Mississippi and also, his

DAVISON, and HENDERSON, please contact me. I have lots more

MARQUARDT. It has been recently discovered that the
Marquardt families in
Texas are related. The three families descend from a common
ancestor, Johann
Gottfried Marquardt of Rottenacker, Saxony. This was made clear
during research
on Christoph Friedrich Mller who married Maria Fredericka
Marquardt, a daughter
of Johann G. Marquardt. Her brothers Christoph Gottfried
Marquardt and Johann
Edmann Gottlieb Marquardt emigrated to Texas in 1855.
A
preliminary copy of
the Mller-Marquardt-Perner family history printed Sept 1997 is
available at the
Boerne and Comfort libraries to help you see the format of this
history being
compiled by Delray Fischer. If you believe you are a descendant
of one of these
families that settled in the Comfort-Sisterdale area, we need
information and
birth dates on your family, your brothers & sisters, your
parents,
grandparents, and your children. Any bits and pieces of data will
be helpful.

Searching for information about the Hiram and Mary Crain family.
They were in Texas by 1849, as their oldest son, William H. Crain, stated he was

counties. He was living in Kendall County in 1870 as reported in the census:
married to Susanah (age 36 b TN), with the following children; William, age 20,
Renaldo, age 17, Mary age 12, Rebecca age 10, Martha age 8, Noton age 3 and Anna
age 2. All the children were born in Texas.
I have also found a CRAIN burial
in the Pipe Creek Cemetery and I suspect it could be Renaldo. CRAIN, R. R., June

In the 1890's William wrote a chapter for the book

there was another man with him, Earnest Young. If anyone
has any knowledge of this or possibly have old newspaper articles I would be
interested in hearing from you. The Boerne newspaper did not keep file back
this far, and it was a very big story. The San Antonio papers were filled with
stories, however I wanted to be able to collect articles or maybe first hand
information from the area. Thanks for any help or names of anyone that I can
contact.

PLEHVE.I am searching for information on Capt. George von Plehve who
emigrated from Prussia to Leon Springs, Texas is is buried there with his wife.
We know about his ancestors, but do not know much about him and his life in

BLANK. I am searching for knowledge of the Blank family. My

was
Lillie Lena Blank. Her brother was Eddie Blank.
Jacob Blank, her father, immigrated from Germany in the 1800's.He was married to
Marriane. I am enclosing a picture of Lillie Lena. Does anyone
recognize the "chapeau bras" she is wearing in the picture? It resembles that in
the picture of General Santa Anna and his chapeau. Did she join a Mexican American
fraternal or charity organization?

Looking for any kind of information, whether fact, story, hearsay, etc., for
HUGO SCHLADOER born April 16, 1845, who was murdered by a man named Gustav Ehlers on May
16, 1891. Hugo was married to Marie Catherine (maiden name unknown) and the 1880 Kerr
County census shows he had four daughters; Agnes, Adelheid (or Adelina), Bertha and Minna.
Marie Catherine Schladoer was born 5/9/1840 and died 6/13/1885, six years before Hugo's murder.
Hugo and Catherine are buried in the Quihi Community Cemetery in Medina County, Texas, next
to their daughter Adelheid Schladoer Reitzer, her husband and their son. Since Adelheid would
have probably had no connection with Quihi before her marriage in 1898, it is possible that she
had her parent's graves moved before her death in 1955.
I have some of the Kerr County court records on the trial of Gustav Ehlers, and am hoping there
is more information out there somewhere. I'm posting this to the Kendall County page since the
Schladoer family settled around Cypress Creek/Lane Valley, etc. and their descendants still live
in the area.

I am researching my family history, and I have heard that they lived in Comfort, TX. My

from Germany. John and Dorietta's children were Lula, Frederick, Rebecca Francis (My great
grandmother who married Benjamin Hays McAdams), John Henry, Elizabeth, Edna, Myrtle, Eddie,
Edward, John Jerome, and Fannie. I don't have much information on the children but I think
that they were born in Comfort.
I believe the Giles and the Bierschwales lived in comfort
for a while.

I am looking for any information on a shooting that occurred in Boerne, probably in the spring
of 1922. My great grandmother, Juana Garcia Bonilla Briellard/Cerda was shot in the eye by a
fugitive, Francisco Cerda. She was married to a Theodoro Cerda (Breillard). *His true name was
Breillard, but he used "Cerda", the name of the family who took him in. *The fugitive was
apparently related to this family. The judge at the time was a Phillips and the sheriff was
Bishwell. After shooting Juana twice (1 bullet missed and 1 hit her in the eye), the fugitive
shot himself to death. Juana stayed in a sanitarium run by sisters for about a year and her
children were taken in by different families in the community. (George by Judge Phillips, Frank
by Sheriff Bishwell, and Josie and Lucy by the Potters). If anybody has an article on this, or
more information, I would sincerely appreciate your contacting me.
