The only building ever constructed on the site of Sims City was a small schoolhouse used for a few years then consolidated with Ricardo School District. Mr. B.O. Sims planned a town site which was laid out three miles south of Ricardo. The streets were laid out. Lots were staked. An orange orchard and shrubs were planted. All of this was wiped away by a prolonged rainfall. The schoolhouse survived because it was two miles west of this site.
