Corrections submitted by Carmen Matheny Gaines, May 8, 2008 who also writes:
"When Christian died in 1890, he specifically ordered, from his death bed, that he wanted to be buried "in that peach orchard" beside his new home.  So the Volz Cemetery contains only one grave, that of Christian.  It is located on land owned by and is maintained by Glen & Carmen (Matheny) Gaines.  It is surrounded by a wrought-iron fence that Carmen's parents erected in 1988, and it includes the old metal replacement marker (ordered by Zilphia, due to incorrect name of Conrad) which Glen and his son found buried in the dirt near it in the 1970's."
