| NOTES: Fact #1: 1857--Isabella came to Texas, Leon Co., with her father, brother James Henry, two sisters Susan & Charlotte & two half brothers Wm. A. & Oscar Beggs. Fact #2: 1858--Names in Weir Ledger-Centerville, Leon Co., TX-----Beiggs Fact #3: 1865--Isabella's name on her father's doctor bill for medicine. FAMILY INFORMATION: Isabella married after 1866 to a Yarbro or Yarbo (couldn't spell it) (information passed from Oscar to his daughter Victoria verbally). She died a few years after Oscar (her half brother) married Alice (Alexander) McNellege in 1894. Oscar stated that she was buried in Brushy Cemetery, Leon Co., TX. About 1890, Isabella's sister Charlotte, who never married, lived with half brother Oscar. She was crippled, took sick and some information says she was in a wheel chair. Oscar went to Oakwood and hired Alice to come and take care of her. In 1894 Oscar and Alice married. Alice knew both Isabella and Pearl (her daughter) while living in Oakwood before she came and married Oscar. Oscar and Alice Beggs had a daughter 1895--Ruth Elizabeth Beggs named after her grandmother Ruth Elizabeth (Mays) Beggs. She married Clint P. Mullenax July 5, 1914 in Oakwood, Leon Co., TX. They had a daughter in 1921---named it "Pearl Alice". She died at six months of age. They were visiting Grandma Alice when the baby died. Buried in Brushy Cemetery, Leon Co., TX next to grandmother Martha Delphenia (Hosmer) Mullenax. "When asked why she named her 'Pearl Alice', she said, "For my father Oscar Beggs sister Isabella's daughter Pearl and for my mother Alice Beggs" It is my belief that she married W. B. Yarborough. |
