Betty Ann Clary – Died 7 June 2009 – Bowers Funeral Home

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Clary were held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at 2:00p.m. at Grace Tabernacle Church in Dew. Bro. Bo Davis officiated. Interment followed the services at Dew Cemetery.

Mrs. Clary passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. She was born and raised in Freestone County in the Burleson Hill Community and married John David Clary on May 3, 1947. She lived in the Houston area with her husband for some thirty years before returning to Burleson Hill in 1983. Mrs. Clary loved to garden, grow flowers, and travel, especially the numerous trips she took to Colorado. She was a very dedicated homemaker, mother, and grandmother and spent much of her life caring for sick and elderly family members. Mrs. Clary was a member of Grace Tabernacle Church in Dew and was very active in the Prayer Line Ministry, spending many hours calling other church members with prayer requests.

She is survived by her husband of over sixty-two years, John David Clary of Burleson Hill; two sons, Kerry Wayne Clary & wife Donna of Deer Park and Melvin Ray Clary & wife Beverly of Cypress; five grandchildren, Jeff Clary & wife Dana, Stephanie Rider & husband Mike, Laura Cargill, Robin Victorian & husband Terry, and Jennifer Baker & husband Brian; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Dott DeBorde of San Antonio; numerous other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Clary was preceded in death by two brothers, William Gehrels and Wilbert (Opossum) Gehrels.
