Funeral services for Lois Edith (Hill) Moore, age 94 of the Flo Community in Leon Co., were held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville, TX.  Rev. James Vermillion officiated and interment was in the Parker Cemetery in northeastern Leon Co.

Lois Edith (Hill) Moore was born January 11, 1914 in the Flo Community of Leon Co. to Orsamus and Margaret Catherine (Shaw) Hill.  She married her late husband, Afton "Colonel" Moore on October 10, 1931 and worked as a homemaker.  Mrs. Moore loved quilting, crocheting and sewing and won first place in the quilting competition at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas.

Mrs. Moore also had a love of gardening, fishing and deer hunting.  She was an excellent cook and was always available when people in the community needed her help.  Mrs. Moore was a member of the Flo Community Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Buffalo.  She passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 in her home.

Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Afton M. "Colonel" Moore; brother, Raymond Hill; and sisters, Fannie Parker, Fay Ward, Lydia Gresham, Nona Jo Coleman and Emma Kathryn Langley.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Earl Hill & Betty Moore of Centerville, TX; a daughter & son-in-law, Lona Zane & Don East of Groves, TX; a brother & sister-in-law, James O. & Oneta Hill of Centerville, TX;  a sister, Wanda Craig of Centerville, TX; 5 grandchildren; Donna Crawford (& Russ) of Anacortes, WA, Danny East Perello of Nederland, Bobby East (& Carol) of Grand Prairie, Lori Ann Moore Barnett (& Ronnie) of the Flo Community and Sheri Lynn Moore Shepherd (& James) of Lumberton, TX; 7 great grandchildren; Daniel Crawfoed of Anacortes, WA; David Crawford of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Jennifer Perello and Megan Perello both of Nederland, Mat Dooley of Houston, Rachel Dooley of Grand Prairie and Colin Harris of Lumberton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Earl Hill Moore, Don East, Bobby East, Ronnie Barnett, Sonny Lathrop and Jim Hill.  Honorary Pallbearer was Colin Harris.

Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, TX is in charge of all arrangements.
