Funeral services for Mr. Jarrod Rub, 39, will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett.  Bro. Billy Bob Evans will officiate.  Interment will follow the services at Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery in Robertson Co.  Visitation will be held on Friday with the family present from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Mr. Rub passed away on Monday, Oct 29, 2007 in Elkhart, Indiana.
He was born in Houston and attended school there.  He became disabled due to complications from an aneurism and remained partially paralyzed most of his life.  He was also a recipient of a kidney transplant.
Jarrod worked numerous times as a volunteer giving disability awareness programs at various elementary schools.  He also served as a volunteer for the Easter Seals and worked at a nursing home while living in Ohio.  He was always a Texan at heart.  Jarrod loved the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Texas Longhorns.  Prior to his disability he was a member of the Montgomery Co. Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his mother, Frankie Jean Zekan & husband Bill of Jewett, one brother, Allyn Rub of Llano, two sisters, Karyn Schaffner of Montgomery and Sharyn Hanson & husband Ron of Jewett, two step-brothers, Bryan Zekan and William Zekan both of Austin, one step-sister, Jeanne Bradford of Houston, maternal grandparents, Travis & Elsa Carlisle of Marquez, nine nieces & nephews, Jeffrey Wimp, Jessy Schaffner, Georgia Schaffner, Taylor Hanson, Travis Hanson, Ashlee Rub, Geraldine Rub, Anna Zekan, and Brandon Bradford.  Mr. Rub was preceded in death by his father, George Allyn Rub, paternal grandparents, Arthur & Geraldine Rub, and maternal grandmother, Louise Petty Carlisle.
