Dorothy Mae Veretto – died 14 August 2008 – Walters Funeral Home

Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Veretto, age 86, of Buffalo will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2008 at the Buffalo Funeral Home. Bro. Carl Clark and Bro. Ray Grissett will officiate and interment will be in the Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo. A visitation will be held Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2008 from 1 PM until 8 PM with the family present from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home. Buffalo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Veretto was born in Hollene, New Mexico, on May 4, 1922 to Noah Jefferson and Dott (Killen) Dilbeck. She came to Buffalo from St. Joe, Arkansas in 1984. She was a member of the Buffalo Missionary Baptist Church where her son, Johnny Veretto is Pastor. She taught Sunday School most of her adult life, and she started a women’s group at her church in 1997 called “Love In Action” which is still continuing. Mrs. Veretto was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. Being a devoted and loving mother and grandmother was only surpassed by her faith in God. She was a Homemaker, and she liked sewing and quilting. Mrs. Veretto went home to be with her Lord and Savior August 14, 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Veretto; grandson, Randy Baker; sister, Olene Brashear, and a brother, Elbert Dilbeck.

Survivors indude her two sons and one daughter in-law; Johnny Veretto and wife Claudia of Buffalo, Texas and David Veretto of Greeley, Colorado; daughter and son in-law; Sandra Langford and husband Howard of Teague, Texas; brother, Lloyd Dilbeck and wife Glenda of Sanger, Texas; sister, Norma Danielson and husband Dean of Belen, New Mexico; ten grandchildren; Marla Harris & Joe of Leander, Tx., Diana Veretto of Leander, Tx., Kim LeStourgeon & Lance of Bandera, Tx., Sharon Kocurek & John of Anna, Tx., Jimmy Veretto & Rachel of Greeley, Co., Cathy Veretto of Greeley Co., Robin Clark & Carl of Dew, Tx., Chris Veretto & Anna of Fairfield, Tx., Greg Veretta & Nicole of Palestine, Tx., Amberleigh Veretto of Buffalo, Tx.; numerous great grandchildren and many friends.

The pallbearers are Sonny Lathrop, Robert Brantner, Daniel Waters, Jerry Waters, Slick Long, and Stanley Robinson. The honorary pallbearers are Ken Woodard, Clint Hardy, Charles White and Doug Freeman.
