There is a Margaret Harper on the inventory for Stevens Cemetery.  Her dates are 1868 - 1880.  We think there was a child of Levi Harper and Sarah Jane Putnam named "Magure" as others have it. No Record of this child can be found.  She could have been born in 1868 but is not listed on the 1870 census.  Can anyone verify the dates on the tombstone? Does anyone know the names of the parents of this child?  Thank you, Betty Wall

Ida West was born about 1878 in Louisiana. Her father was Robert West. She may have married a man named Owens. But she did marry Pinckney Rawls about 1925 or 1926. They were divorced in Houston county in 1927. On the census of 1930 of Leon County she was age 30 and divorced with a 9 year old daughter named Hazel. Hazel's surname is hard to read but looks like Owens. Please look up marriages for Ida West and give me dates and names of grooms if marriages took place in Leon County. Thanks  Bennie Ferguson
CORRECTION:  Ida West was born abt 1898 or 1899 in Texas.  Her parents were Robert West & Mattie Robinson who married in Leon Co. abt 1897.  Ida may have married Pinckney Rawls abt 1926.  I have not found which county they would have married in.  On the marriage record Ida's surname may not have been West as I believe she had a previous marriage possible to an Owens.  The divorce was in 1927 in Houston Co. but I did not find the marriage in Houston Co.  I would appreciate any help you could give me.  Bennie Ferguson.

Johnson -- We are trying desperately to obtain information on our great grandparents.  My father has been working on it for years, but he has no computer skills and is having a hard time
To the best of our knowledge, his name was W. E. Johnson.  We believe his wife was Alice Marie or Mary Alice Sick.  He had three children; Isaac Newton, Clarence, and a daughter named Carrie.  We think I. N. was born about 1888 and orphaned in 1900.  Clarence committed suicide.
My father would like to find out the location of his grave if possible, as well as any other information that may be available.  Thanks for any help

Cheshire -- I am looking for any of he descendants of a gentleman named George W. Cheshire.  All I know is that he married Lillie G. Thomas who died in Nov 1917.   They had several children.  I know that after his wife died he gave the children to others to be raised as he had to many to raise by himself.  I know one was Travis Raymond who was adopted by the Manning Family.  He had a sister named Mattie.  I have a picture of her, her husband and small children.  I was told that several of his descendants are still living in and around in Leon Co., Probably Normangee, TX.
If anyone can connect with him and would be willing to share more information on this family, please contact me.    Annette Ditto
Additional information added June 28, 2007
George W. Cheshire married Lillie Thomas 25 April 1902 in Madison Co.  Lillie Thomas (3 Dec 1883-06 Nov 1917) was the dau. of James & Martha Jane (Allen) Thomas.  She was the granddaughter of Isaac & Nancy Jane (Simmons) Allen.  She is buried at Nash Cemetery in North Zulch.  The couple have two dau. on the 1910 Madison Co. census, Mattie age 4 and Osie age 2.  Thery are know to be the parents of a son, Travis Raymond Cheshire Manning, b. 15 Oct 1913 and died 06 Dec 1977 in Brazos Co.  After the death of their mother, the children were given up for adoption.  Travis Raymond was adopted by the family of James Collier & Katie Lee (Taylor) Manning.  They are living in Brazos Co. on the 1920 census and in the box for Relation for 6 yr old Travis it says "willed".  There is a child named Abert (Albert?) Lee Cheshire, age 8, listed as an orphan, living with the William J. McBride family on the 1920 Madison Co. census.  There are two Cheshire children living with Joe and Jessie Watson in Brazos Co. in 1920, Jessie, age 9 M, and Wilma 4 F.  The relation box says "willed." Could these three be George and Lillie's children? Annette Ditto

Hayden/Yarbrough -- My wife, Margaret Divelbiss Mosby (grand-daughter of Ida Yarbrough Hayden and daughter of Frankie Hayden Divelbiss) is seeking any information relating to either of these two families, the Haydene's and/or the Yarbrough's.  A parcel of land that was willed to my wife and her brother was located in Leon Co. It was originally part of a larger parcel, known as "Hayden's Mountain" (located along side of IH-45 near Ft. Boggy State Park). This parcel was recently sold.

We know that William Hayden (Ida's husband) was killed in a railraod accident in 1915 and is buried in Teague, along with Ida and another daughter, Margaret.
What I have just related is pretty much the sum total of all of our knowledge.  If anyone has anything else, please let us know.  Than you, Jim Mosby
