Hawkins Cemetery

This was told to me by Mr. Pink Hawkins, father of my husband, F.E. Hawkins.
On Sunday, March 1, 1965. He was ninety years old, being born on February 11, 1875. His father, Pinkney Hawkins, was born on January 31, 1833. Pinkney Hawkins lived in Macon Co. Georgia before coming to Texas in 1854.

Pinkney Hawkins lived two miles north of Personville near a spring called Hawkins Spring. One small holly tree was near the spring which was on Chambers Creek.

Pinkney Hawkins is buried at Prairie Grove Cemetery. His wife, Mary Ann Turner Hawkins, is buried near the home in which she lived. She was born June 10, 1841 and died November 25, 1897. Two children buried there are: Ugenia A.., born June 1858 and died January 6, 1868. Benjamin was born June 8, 1869 and died June 2, 1870.

There are two unmarked graves.
These graves have been moved to the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
