The Jefferson Jimplecute says:
The River, Weather and Crops--
The water continues to fall here about four inches every twenty-four
hours, but it will take it two months to get too low for
navigation. Weather still cloudy with frequent showers. The corn
crops have come out 50 per cent since the rains commenced, and
cotton is "spreading itself."
