The Jefferson Jimplecute says:
At the sale of property of the estate of A.E. Perdue, deceased, in this county yesterday corn sold for $1.28 and $1.30c per bushel. Fodder $2.50 per hundred-- meat hogs weighing from 150 to 200 for $20 per head on foot, and other property in proportion except cattle, which went as low as $3 to $5 per head.
We are pleased to chronicle the arrival of Mrs. M.J. Lewis, Postmistress for this city. Mrs. L is a relative of our esteemed fellow citizen John M. Lewis, Esq. The office will be opened immediately.
The Jefferson Bulletin of the 22d, says: Last Sunday a party of U.S. calvary, on duty in this city, forcibly entered the premises of Dr. W.A. Thomas, residing in the vicinity of Jefferson and addressed grossly insulting language to the lady of the house.
