Mrs. Janie Adams Dies At Vivian

     Mrs. Janie B. Adams, wife of Mr. Joseph R. Adams died at Vivian, Louisiana Saturday night. She was visiting at the home of her son, Will T. Adams and wife. Her body reached here Monday accompanied by her son and his wife and taken to the family home on Line Street. Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late John C. Murphy. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Miss Mary and sons, C. A. Adams of Marshall, W. T Adams of Vivian, and J. R. Adams of Brownsville; brothers, R. J. Murphy of Paris, W. H. Murphy of Ardmore and W. T. Murphy of Ft. Worth. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, with services conducted by the Rev. C. T. Cummings, interment followed in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Child Dies From Whooping Cough

     Louis Aiken son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Aiken died Wednesday morning from whooping cough at their home of this city, he was about eighteen months old.

Note: Louis R. Aiken was born 31 January 1912 and died 2 July 1913. He was buried in the New Prospect Cemetery.


Aiken, Mr. Hillary

Mr. Aiken Dies In Shreveport

     Mr. Hillary Aiken died in a Shreveport hospital Friday morning, March 2nd from pneumonia. His wife, Mrs. Delia FASON Aiken died the Friday before of pneumonia and was brought to Jefferson on Saturday by her mother, Mrs. W. D. Fason, her three little children, Mrs. Bass Nichols and Miss Minnie Hartzo. She was buried at New Prospect cemetery at noon. The three little orphaned children, two girls and one boy will make their home with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Fason.

Note: Hillary T. Aiken was born 11 July 1875 and died 2 March 1917. Estella I. "Delia" FASON Aiken was born 30 October 1889 and died 23 February 1917. They are both buried in the New Prospect Cemetery.


Allen, Mrs. Julia

Mrs. Peter Allen Died Saturday

     Mrs. Julia Allen, the widow of the late Peter Allen died at the home of her son-in-law, A. W. Lathrop, Saturday about 12 o'clock after a lingering illness. The burial took place Sunday afternoon with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. J. Woodson conducted the services. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. W. Lathrop and Mrs. Tom Simmons of this city and a step-son, Tom Allen of Mineola, Texas.

Note: Julia K. Allen was born 28 November 1856. Tombstone has death date as 25 January 1913. She is buried beside her husband Peter M. Allen.


Andrews, Joe "Joe Boy" Jr.

Joe Andrews Jr., 79

     Joe "Joe Boy" Andrews Jr., a retired commercial fisherman and owner of Joe Boy's Camp on Caddo Lake, died Wednesday. The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Middle School, Jefferson, Texas. Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. today at Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday, and from 6-8 p.m. today at Shady Grove Church of Christ in Smithland, Texas. Burial is at Douglas Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas.
