Mrs. Dalrymple Dies At Cave Springs
Mrs. Tom A. Dalrymple of Cave Springs died Wednesday from complications of appendicitis. She was buried that afternoon in the Church cemetery. She was the former Miss Willie Lee and is survived by her husband, Thomas Allen Dalrymple and baby boy, Luther Thomas Dalrymple.
Note: Willie Elizabeth LEE Dalrymple was born 20 October 1894 and died 21 April, she is buried in the Cave Springs Cemetery in Cass County.

Mrs. Daugherty Dies At Woodlawn
Mrs. Z. Daugherty, wife of Z. Daugherty, an aged lady died at the home of her daughter near Woodlawn on Saturday. The burial took place Sunday. The deceased had lived in Jefferson for many years, and had only lived with her daughter since her health became feeble.

Old Citizen Dies
Z. Daugherty passed away about 4 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.C. Webb, after an illness of seven weeks, he was 85. Mr. Daugherty took sick in Daingerfield at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. J. Ragland and was brought to Jefferson by his daughter, Mrs. Webb. He was an old citizen and conducted a harness repair business for years. He was an old war veteran, having enlisted in Georgia and was a member of the Dick Taylor Camp UCV #665 at Jefferson. He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Ragland at Daingerfield, Mrs. Boon at Woodlawn, Mrs. Hayner at Karnack and Mrs. Webb of Jefferson and a number of grandchildren. The funeral took place Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. and services were conducted by Rev. H. T. Perritte.

Dan Davis Dies Near Hartzo
Dan Davis died at his home near Hartzo Friday, January 17th after an illness of a week of grippe and other complications. The burial took place Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Core graveyard with services conducted by M. J. Parker. Mr. Davis was born in Dewitt County, Texas and came to Marion County and married Mrs. Ida Pear about twelve years ago. His brother-in-law was John J. Gray.
Note: Dan Davis was born 9 October 1876. He is buried beside his wife Ida Florence and a son, James Hollis Davis.

Young Davis Child Dies At Home
J. W. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Davis died Wednesday, June 10th. he was born 7 July 1912 and was laid to rest in the Shiloh Cemetery at 4 p.m. The funeral was conducted by Rev. H. T. Perritte of Jefferson.

Mrs. Davis Dies At Home
Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, the wife of Mr. E. Davis died at the family home on Broadway Street, Friday, October 31st at 2:30 p.m. after an illness of ten weeks. The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Catholic Church with services conducted by Father Phillenger of Shreveport.

Mrs. Matilda Davis, the wife of Mr. W. R. Davis died at the family home north of this city, Saturday, October 28th, after an illness of some time. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. J. D. Akin and five sons, N. A. King of Atlanta, Henry B. Davis of Paris, J. T. King, Haskell and Russell Davis. The burial took place at the New Prospect Cemetery Sunday afternoon with services conducted by G. K. Williams and Rev. P. Jolly, her pastor. She was born in Anderson County, South Carolina, 26 August 1851. She married Henry W. King in 1870 and to this union three children were born, N. A. King of Atlanta, Willie King, deceased, and James King of Jefferson. She married Warren R. Davis 11 January 1877, to this union seven children were born, four sons, three daughters, Henry B. Davis of Paris, Haskell M. Davis, Warren Russell Davis, and Virginia B. Aiken, all of Jefferson, John Davis, Ada M. Terrell and Winnie Gray Davis.
Note: Matilda C. GRUBBS Davis was the daughter of John and Nancy COX Grubbs.

Porter Davis Passed Away On Saturday
Mr. P. H. Davis passed away at his home on Lafayette Street on Saturday, July 17th at 4 p.m. after an illness of several weeks. He is survived by his widow, two sons and three daughters. The funeral and burial took place at New Prospect Sunday at 5 p.m. with the services conducted by Rev. McCann.

Infant Dies
The little infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Davis, aged four weeks, died 25th of January. Services were conducted by O. L. Henderson and P. Sices of Lasater.
Note: Marion County Cemetery Book - Walter Davis born 27 December 1907 - died 26 January 1908. He was the son of Joseph P. and Inyes Davis. He is buried in the Beamer- Davis Cemetery by his parents and other siblings.

Mrs. Dawson Dies From Cancer
Mrs. George Annie Dawson passed away Wednesday the 19th at 2:30 p.m. after a long battle with cancer of the face, she was 71 years old. The deceased was the widow of the late Col. G. W. L. Dawson and had been a Jefferson resident since 1870. Mrs. Dawson leaves one sister, Mrs. Rena Henly of Ben Wheeler and a niece at Tyler. The funeral took place from the Catholic Church Thursday morning at 10 a.m. with services conducted by Father Wrinklerer of Shreveport, interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Note: Ann Dawson was born 31 August 1842, she is buried beside her husband.

Rev. Dawson Dies In Jasper County
Rev. J. L. Dawson, pastor of the M. E. Church South at Jefferson for the past two years and who had been in feeble health for some time, died Friday, November 26th at the home of his son in Jasper County, Texas.

Death Of E. H. Dobbins
Another good old citizen and prominent landmark has passed away. For the past year, he has been an invalid and confined at his home. Mr. Dobbins was an old Confederate soldier. He is survived by a wife; two sons; and three daughters. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the Masons will also participate in the last rites.
Note: Ezekiel H. Dobbins 1844-1907 husband of Josephine HARRISON Dobbins 1843-1932. They are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson.

Mrs. Lucille Dodd Dies
Mrs. Lucille Dodd of Howelton, wife of Mr. Thomas Dodd and daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. N. Henderson, died after a lingering illness. In her death three little children are left motherless, a devoted husband, parents and other relatives are left to mourn her loss. The burial took place at New Prospect Cemetery on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Mr. Dorgan Died Sunday Night
Mr. F. A. Dorgan died Sunday night, April 5th. He is survived by a step-mother, a sister and a brother; a large number of relatives and friends. The burial and funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Abernathy.
Note: F. A. Dorgan was born in 1892, he is buried in the Simmons Cemetery, west of Jefferson.

P. G. Driskell Died Friday After Short Illness
P. G. Driskell died at 3 a.m. Friday, December 6th after a short illness. He had never married, he and single sister, Miss Mary Driskell lived at the old homestead 12 miles east of Tyler. He was 68 years old and a devout Methodist. His father was Peter Driskell. His remains reached here Saturday at 3 p.m. accompanied by many relatives and friends. He was laid to rest by the side of his parents in the Rowell's family plot. He leaves to mourn his death, three sisters and two brothers, Miss Mary Driskell, Mrs. A. H. Rowell, Mrs. W. J. Caven of Dallas and Mr. Willie Driskell, Jr. of Marshall and Dr. Driskell of Daingerfield.
Note: Peyton Graves Driskell 1844 - 1912, he is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson, Texas.

Thelma Rae Duncan
JEFFERSON — Graveside services for Thelma Rae Duncan, 97, of Dallas will be held at 1 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson with the Rev. Jerry Vickers officiating. Arrangements are by Haggard-Heaster Funeral Home. Ms. Duncan died Sunday. She was born May 18, 1905, in Jefferson. She retired from the finance department of GMAC.
