Pegues, Henry Carroll

PEGUES, HENRY CARROLL                                                                      December 31, 1940 – July 8, 1976

Funeral services for Henry Carroll Pegues were Saturday at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Omaha with the Rev. David Blase officiating.  Burial was in the Omaha Cemetery.  Pegues, a musician and member of the First Baptist Church, was a lifelong resident of Omaha.  He is survived by his wife, Kathy Pegues of Omaha; a son, Russell Pegues of Omaha; two daughters, Cheryl Pegues and Pam Pegues, both of Omaha; his parents, Henry Pegues of Omaha and Virginia Calder of Tahlequah, Okla.; and three brothers, Harold Pegues of Hugo, Okla., Roy Pegues of Arlington, and Darrell Pegues of Omaha.  (I Row 6)

Richards, Belton L. Sr.

RICHARDS, BELTON L. SR.                                                                      September 20, 1905 – March 15, 1976

Belton L. Richards, Sr., 70, of Omaha died Monday morning in his home.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Omaha with the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating.  Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella Richards of Omaha, three sons, B. L. Richards, Jr. of Lone Star, TX, Bobby Richards and Anthony Richards both of Omaha; three brothers Rufus Richards of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Orville Richards of Greggton, TX and Farris Richards of Daingerfield, TX; three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Vaught of Omaha, Mrs. Pauline Owens of Tyler, TX and Mrs. Pearline Northam of Daingerfield and six grandchildren.  He was a retired employee of Lone Star Steel Company.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Omaha.  (Row 35 NE)

Stevens, Audie James

STEVENS, AUDIE JAMES                                                                          July 8, 1901 -- August 2, 1976

Services for Audie James Stevens, 75, of Daingerfield were at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Concord Baptist Church with the Revs. Curtis Hall, Carroll Jones and Jim Powell officiating.  Burial was at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.  Mr. Stevens died Monday morning at Daingerfield hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and was retired from General Dynamics.  He had lived in Daingerfield most of his life.  Survivors include his wife, Cleoria; two sons, Wendell of Fort Worth and Thomas Ray of Daingerfield; a sister, Justine Currey of Midland; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Pallbearers were grandsons.  (NW Row 14)

Talley, Annie Bell Davis

TALLEY, ANNIE BELL DAVIS                                                                  January 22, 1889 – February 4, 1976

Mrs. O. M. Talley, 87, of Omaha died Wednesday morning of last week in the David Granberry Memorial Hospital at Naples.  Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery.  Survivors include a daughter-in-law Mrs. Vivian Talley of Omaha; a grandson Larry Talley of Dallas and four great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. MRS. MAE DOROTHY BALL TIGERT, 60, of Omaha, died Tuesday morning, November 16, 1976, in a Tyler hospital. DEE W TIGERT, 70, of Omaha died Thursday morning, November 18, 1976, in a Tyler hospital.  Double funeral services were at 2 pm Friday, November 19, 1976, at the Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Carroll Jones, the Rev. T. P. Lee and the Rev. Clifford Longino officiating.  Mr. and Mrs. Tigert were married December 23, 1939 by the Rev. T. P. Lee in Marietta, TX.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Home.  Surviving Mr. and Mrs. Tigert are three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Janette) Cook of Tyler, Mrs. Jerry (Vicki) Davis of Campbell, TX, and Mrs. Sammy (Rebecca) Whatley of Lone Star, and four grandchildren: Barry and Brandon Cook of Tyler, Rhonda Whatley of Lone Star, and Jay Davis of Campbell.  She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Jesse Lee and Victoria Mae Embree Ball and a sister, Eva Lorene Ball.  Also surviving Mrs. Tigert is a brother, Francis Lee Ball of Hitchcock.  Mr. Tigert was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Cattie Justiss Tigert.   Mr. Tigert’s other survivors include five brothers, Joe Tigert, of Naples, Johnny Tigert and Louis Tigert, both of Omaha, Wilton Tigert of Austin, Emerald Lee Tigert of Delhigh, CA; half-brothers, George Tigert, Jr., Bobby Ray Tigert and Billy Tigert of Shreveport; stepbrothers, Judge Smith of Omaha and Ruben Smith of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Birdie Boozer of Omaha, Mrs. Lucy McCollum of Naples, Mrs. Ruby Ivy of Gladewater; half-sisters, Mrs. Josephine Terrell of Lone Star and Mrs. Mildred Terrell of Daingerfield; step-sisters, Mrs. Opal Rivers of Shreveport and Mrs. Dovie Churchwell of Omaha; his step-mother, Mrs. George W (Cleola) Tigert of Lone Star.  Mrs. Tigert was worthy matron of the Omaha Chapter #997 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Concord Baptist Church where she served as pianist and was a longtime resident of Omaha.  Mr. Tigert was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, a member of the David Elliott Masonic Lodge of Omaha, was worthy patron of the Omaha Chapter #997 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a retired rural mail carried and a retired employee of the Lone Star Steel Company.  (NW Row 27)
