Martin, Willie Mary Wallace

MARTIN, WILLIE MARY WALLACE                                                        October 25, 1901 – Aug 13, 1977

Mrs. Willie Mary Martin, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday in a Mt. Pleasant hospital.  Services were at 2 pm, Monday at the Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Richard L. Diggs officiating.  Burial was in the Concord Cemetery.  Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband and one son.  Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Pool of Simms, Mrs. Ottis Gilmore of Euless and Mrs. James B. Bickley of Dallas; a son, James Robert Martin of Hobbs, NM; two brothers, Robert Wallace and Harold Wallace, both of Omaha; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  (Row 34 SE)

Spencer, Johnnie W.

SPENCER, JOHNNIE W.                                                                                January 28, 1919 – May 16, 1977

Johnnie W. Spencer, a Naples grocer for over 30 years, died Monday evening at the Naples hospital.  He was 58 years old and had operated Spencer’s Grocery and Market in Naples until taking retirement in March of last year because of his health.  Funeral services were at 2:30 pm, Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Naples with the Rev. David Blasé and the Rev. Carroll Jones officiating.  Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service of Naples.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maveline Spencer of  Naples; two sons, Bill Spencer of Atlanta and Jim Spencer of Hughes Springs; his mother, Mrs. Hattie Spencer of Naples; two brothers, E. L. Spencer of Jasper and Charles Spencer of Tyler; three sisters, Mrs. Vena Mae Latham of Grand Prairie, Mrs. Evelyn Wade of Dallas and Mrs. Harvie Dee Carpenter of Omaha; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.  He was a lifetime resident of Naples, a member of the Baptist Church and the Belden Masonic Lodge.  Mr. Spencer also served as a home-service chairman for the Morris County Red Cross and Salvation Army.  He was honored with a certificate of appreciation in January from the Salvation Army for his loyal, faithful and unselfish work for the group.   (NE Row 9)
