Weddings, April 2001

GLAZE-ANDERSON exchange vows
  Dawn Glaze and Adam Anderson were married on April 28 in an outdoor ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Berry, Jr., of Marshall. The ceremony was officiated by Judge Terry Bailey.
  The bride is the daughter of Harold and Janet Glaze, and the granddaughter of Irabell Glaze and the late Hubert Glaze, all of Carthage, and Daisy and Bill Dobbs, and the late Cecil Harris, of Mount Pleasant.
  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Braley, of Gilmer, and the late Gene Anderson, of Marshall. He is the grandson of Mellie Bankston, of Hallsville.
  The couple will reside in Marshall, TX.

SMALL-KNIGHT united in marriage
  On Saturday, April 7th, Lee Earl Knight and Keri Small were united in marriage in a small family ceremony held at the John Moore Searcy Activity Center at the Beckville Housing Authority. It was perhaps an unusual situation in that Lee Earl's ex-in-laws were present as were Keri's.
  Lee Earl's brother Brian was best man and Keri's sister Lisa was the matron of honor. All of Lee Earl and Keri's children were allowed to participate in the ceremony in whatever capacity they chose.
  The newly weds immediately settled into family life in Lee Earl's house here in Beckville. The blended family includes Keri's children: Steven age 14, Beth age 12, Ashlynn age 9 and Alex age 4; Lee Earl's daughters Breanna age 5 and Ashley age 3.
  The Rev. Jerry Phillips, a long time family friend, was the officiating minister.
  A host of marvelous friends made it a most memorable occasion. Sandra Sharp East provided the punch and the bulk of the refreshments. Ann Smith Fitch, Alice Langley Williams and Judy Weaver Carpenter spearheaded the decorations assisted by Shannon Ramage Knight and Casey Bramblett Sharp.

Weddings, May 2001

COCKERHAM-BOYD
  Misty Sharlene Cockerham and Steven Jay Boyd were married on Saturday, May 19, 2001, at the Cherokee Club on Lake Cherokee. The bride is the daughter of Billy and Gail Cockerham of Carthage. The groom is the son of Jerry and Barbara Boyd in Longview.
  The bride holds a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University. She is a police officer with the University of Texas at Dallas Police Department. The groom, a graduate of Sam Houston State University, holds a bachelor of science degree in law enforcement police science. He is a police officer with the Plano Police Department. The couple honeymooned in Cancun and Cozumel. They reside in Frisco.

LAGRONE-BREWSTER unite in marriage
  A double-ring candlelit ceremony united Ashley Brooke LaGrone and Eric Edwin Brewster in marriage at half past seven on May 26, 2001 at First Baptist Church in Carthage. Allen Tilley, pastor of First Baptist, and David Paschal, step-father of the bride, officiated.
  The bride is the daughter of David and Mindy Paschal, of Westminster, Colo., and Dennis and Rhonda LaGrone, of Carthage. Grandparents of the bride include Carson and Dixie Joines, Robbie and Josephine LaGrone, all of Carthage; Thomas and Judy Cockrell, of Gary, and Joanna Woods, of Arlington.
  The groom is the son of Frank and Sherry Allums, of Carthage, and the late Jim Brewster. Grandparents of the bride include Mary LaFollette, of Carthage, the late Metz LaFollette and the late James and Anne Brewster.
  After a honeymoon trip to Dallas, the couple is making their home in Carthage. The bride will continue to pursue her nursing degree and the groom is employed by R. Lacy.

O'NEAL-HENDERSON marry in Jamaica
  Causby Lea O'Neal and Dusty Lee Henderson were united in marriage on May 22, 2001 at noon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The Rev. Y. W. Higgins officiated the beachside ceremony.
  The bride is the daughter of Bill and Karon O'Neal, of Carthage, and Pat and Faye Frasier, of Corpus Christi. She is the granddaughter of Jessie O'Neal and the late W. C. O'Neal, of Corsicana, and Louise Burrows and the late O. H. Gipson, of Garrison. The groom is the son of Tommy Henderson, of Byers, and Mike and Janice Sterling, of Wichita Falls. He is the grandson of Vernie and Melba Burris, Bill and Joan Henderson, and the late ChloDell Craddock, all of Byers.
  The bride is a 1997 graduate of Carthage High School, a 1999 graduate of Panola College and a May 2001 graduate of Texas A & M University-Commerce with a degree in elementary education. She is now employed as a kindergarten teacher for Bland Independent School District in Merit. The groom attended Byers High School, Weatherford College, and graduated from TAMU-Commerce in December 2000 with a degree in business administration. He is a claims adjuster for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Company.
  After a honeymoon at Couples Resort in Ocho Rios, the couple is residing in Greenville.

ALLISON-LAXSON unite in marriage
  Katie Allisa Allison and Brandon Scott Laxson, both of San Antonio, were united in marriage at 6 pm June 9, 2001 in the sanctuary of Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Dr. Gary Fitzgerald officiated the double-ring ceremony.
  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Allison, of Carthage. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Sharp, of Carthage, and the late Lona Sharp, and Conrad Allison, of Carthage, and the late Fay Allison. A graduate of Carthage High School, she earned a bachelor of administration degree in marketing and management from Texas A&M University in 1999. She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
  The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Laxson, of San Antonio. His grandparents are Mrs. Jonnie Greer and the late Erman Greer and Virginia Laxson and the late Aleck Laxson, all of San Antonio. The Robert E. Lee High School graduate earned his degree from Texas A&M University in 1999, majoring in political science with a minor in business administration. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order.
  After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple is at home in San Antonio.

  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Faux, all of Carthage, the late George J. Foster, of Sedalia, MO, and Mrs. Thomas Johnson and the late Mr. Johnson, of Hannibal, MO. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hickey III and the grandson of mr. and Mrs. Charles Hickey Jr., Louise Reaghard and the late Mr. Reaghard, all of Austin, and Elsie Prunetti, of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
  The bride is a 1995 graduate of Carthage High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a doctor of pharmacy degree and is employed by Children's Medical Center, of Dallas, as a clinical pharmacist. The groom is a 1993 graduate of Pflugerville High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a masters of professional accounting and a bachelors of business administration degree, and is a senior associate with Pricewaterhouse Coopers L L P in Dallas.
  The couple honeymooned in Keystone, Colorado. They will make their home in Dallas.

  The bride is the daughter of Clay and Vicki VanDeCarr, of Beckville. She attended high school at Northside Christian Academy in Carthage, and is currently attending East Texas Baptist University. The groom is the son of Duane and Kay Dragoo, of Henderson. He attended NCA, and graduated from LeTourneau University. He is employed by NCC as the director of Christian Education.

  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney K. Weaver, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Dean Weaver and the late Sam T. Weaver and the late Mr. and Mrs. James C. Erwin, all of Carthage. She is a graduate of Carthage High School and Stephen F. Austin University. Currently, she is employed as a graphic designer for Resource Communications Group in Addison.
  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Arnold, of Winnsboro, and the grandson of James Arnold, of Spokane, WA and the late Lorene Arnold, of Farmers Branch, and the late B.L. and Jan Houchin, of Carrolton. He is a graduate of Winnsboro High School and LeTourneau University and is employed as a Process Improvement Advisor for Pilgrims Pride Corp. in Dallas. The couple will make their home in Dallas.
