Weddings, October 2001

DAVIS-EDWARDS
  Rachell Davis of Shepherd and Randy Edwards of Tomball were united in marriage at 1 pm on Oct 20, 2001 at the Rose Garden Wedding Center in Porter. The Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Highland United Methodist Church in Baytown, officiated the double-ring ceremony before approximately 150 guests.
  The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Kindra Davis of Shepherd. She is a 1996 graduate of Shepherd High School and is employed by the Harris County Sheriff's Department as a jailer. The groom is the son of Charles and Linda Edwards of Carthage. He is a graduate of Tomball High School and is employed by the City of Tomball Water Department.
  The wedding was a beautiful outdoor setting. The wedding song for the ceremoney was "Once in a Lifetime" by Clay Walker.
  Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a lovely white wedding gown and carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations adorned with deep blue ribbons.
  Maid of honor was Brandy Brawner of Shepherd, sister of the bride. Bridemaids were Dolly Clack of Austin, Chancy Deal, Becky Bany and Jennifer Reynolds all of Shepherd. Flower girls were Shelby and Emily Brawner of Shepherd, nieces of the bride. They work midnight-blue dresses and carried bouquets of white carnations.
  Best man was Donald Lehman, Jr. of Tomball and second best man was Ryan Edwards, also of Tomball, the groom's brother. Groomsmen were Doug Hayman of Pasadena, Chris Miller of Tomball and Jason Cotton of Houston. Ring bearer was Grant Norrell of Arlington, cousin of the groom. They were dressed in black western-style tuxedos. Ushers were Robert Windt of Coldsprings and Casey Mora of Tomball, the groom's cousin.
  Victoria Mize, the bride's niece and Waynon Schue, both of Shepherd attended the guest registry.
  A reception, hosted by the bride's mother, was held in the Rose Garden Reception Room. A meal was served and there was dancing and fellowship with family and friends.
  After a honeymoon trip to Houston and Galveston, the couple is at home in Tomball.

JEFFRESS-SAWYER to marry in October
  Mr. and Mrs. Dean Jeffress, of Carthage, are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Leigh, to Todd Sloan Sawyer, of Tyler. The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sawyer and the grandson of Lucy Roush, all of Tyler. He is co-owner of F. E. Sawyer Building Systems in Tyler. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jeffress, all of Carthage. She is a dental hygienist in the office of Dr. Britt Ruby in Tyler. The wedding will be held at First Baptist Church in Carthage at 6pm October 27, 2001. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  Judy Carpenter, daughter of Minnie Bell Weaver and the late I. C. Weaver, of Beckville was united in marriage to Ted Seegers, of Carthage, on November 16, 2001.

  Joey Overton, daughter of Judy Carpenter and Butch Wyatt, was united in marraige on Nov. 1, 2001 to Charles Landers. Joey is the granddaughter of Minnie Bell Sipes Weaver and the late I. C. Weaver, of Beckville.

PROCTER-SANDLIN wed
  Darla Sue Procter will marry Matthew James Sandlin on Nov. 17, 2001 on the Kakaoku Beach in Hawaii. A reception will follow on Dec. 8, 2001 in Friona, TX. Darla is the daughter of Dewayne and Cheryl Procter, of Friona and the granddaughter of Darlene Ramage and the late Gerald Ramage, of Carthage. She is the niece of Charles and Leona Ramage, of Carthage and Mark and Beth Ramage, of Carthage. Matthew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rao and Mr. Mark Sandlin.

  Mr. And Mrs. Bobby Harris of Geneva, wish to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Julia Elizabeth Harris to James Michael "uck" Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Nelson of Carthage. The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Brookeland High School and is currently attending Stephen F. Austin State University majoring in Agri-Buesinss. She is employed by Tractor Supply Company in Henderson. The prospective groom is a 1994 graduate of Beckville High School and is currently working for Joroda Construction in Carthage. The approaching marriage is on Dec 22, 2001 at 3 pm at McMahan Chapel United Methodist Church in San Augustine.
