HIGHTOWER-HICKSBrooklyn Hightower and Aaron Hicks of Carthage have announced their engagement. The couple will marry at 7:30 pm on Jan 19, 2002 at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. The bride-elect is the daughter of Rocky and Tina Massengale and David and Linda Hightower all of Carthage. She is the granddaughter of Murph and Frances Dixon of Beckville, Fred and Julia Hightower of Carthage, Abe and Mary Massengale of Pompano Beach FL and Bud and Mary Messick of Coushatta LA. She is a 2001 graduate of Carthage High School and is employed by Home and Garden Party in Marshall. The prospective groom is the son of Allen Joe and Belinda Hicks of Carthage. He is the grandson of Vida Decker of Marshall, Jo Anne Hicks of Carthage and Jean Shoffer of Missouri. He is a 1998 graduate of Carthage High School and is attending LSUS. He is employed by Excel Ford in Carthage. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the ceremony. The couple will reside in the Deadwood Community.

HILL-STEVENSON
On Jan. 5, 2002, Miranda Lane Hill and Timothy Wayne Stevenson, Jr. were united marriage at Central Baptist Church in Carthage. Miranda is the daughter of Lisa and Woodrow Farmer of Carthage and Chris Hill of Hallsville. T. J. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Wayne Stevenson, Sr. of Carthage. The bride is the granddaughter of Robert and Mary Lou Gunter of Marshall and Jeanette Hill of Longview. She is the great-granddaughter of Callie Sanders of Carthage and Roger and Ola Gunter of Joaquin.
The couple will make their home in Ft. Campbell, KY where T. J. is stationed in the military.
