Leroy E. Faulkenberry

Leroy E. Faulkenberry, Grandfalls, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, in Monahans. He was 81 years old. Born April 28, 1925, in McCauley, he was the son of Claude and Effie Faulkenberry. He was an Army veteran. He was a Baptist and a retired oilfield pumper.

His parents; his wife, Delphyne Faulkenberry; and his sons, Wilburn Leroy Faulkenberry and Claude Faulkenberry, preceded Leroy in death.

His son, Clarence Faulkenberry and wife, Sandy, Fort Stockton; his daughters, Gerry Bookmiller and husband, Ray, Grandfalls; Linda Mills and husband, Dale; Loyce Clemmer and husband, Lloyd, all of Monahans; Joyce Clark, Odessa; Wanda Wilhow and husband, Travis, Austin, and Elizabeth White,
Brownwood; and his sister, Mattie Duckett, Brownwood. Also surviving Leroy are 22 grandchildren,
33 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 4, at First Baptist Church, Grandfalls. Buck Love officiated. Interment was in Imperial Cemetery . Memorials may be made to Star Hospice, 620 N. Valeriano V. Flores

Valeriano V. Flores, 74, of Sheffield died Thursday, March 26, 1998, in a Midland hospital.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today and Sunday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Sheffield. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with burial in Sheffield Cemetery . Arrangements are by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

He was born April 12, 1923, in Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico, and was a lifetime resident of Sheffield. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a sheep shearer, worked in highway construction and was janitor and bus driver for the school district. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Flores of Sheffield; six sons, Val Flores of Odessa, Joe Flores of Midland, Ruben Flores of McLean, Harvey Flores of Celina, and Raul Flores and James Lee Flores, both of Sheffield; seven daughters, Marta Rivera of San Angelo, Irene Alcala, Lillie Flores and Anna Marie Martinez, all of Odessa, Ester Sanchez of Marfa, Velma Gutierrez of Crane and Elma Delgado of Wylie; a sister, Jesusa Ramos of Odessa; 38 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews

Roberta Virginia Frye

Roberta, Frye, 67, of Mount Gilead, Ohio died Thursday September 22, 2005 in the Morrow County Hospital after a year long battle with cancer. She was born on June 24, 1938 in Iraan Texas the daughter of the Charlie E. and Nina Mae (Billington) Kimbrough.

She worked for over twenty years as an assembler at ITT Electric in Galion. Roberta was a member of the Galion Moose Lodge #303 and the Mount Gilead AMVETS Post #87 Auxiliary. She was also an avid golfer.

She is survived by her husband Donald W. whom she married on October 16, 1971, a son; Kenneth Keister of Galion, Ohio, a sister; Annis Weston of Carlsbad, New Mexico, two grandchildren; Adam and Aaron, three great grand children; Ashton, Corwin, and Kylie, three nieces; Judy Morgan, Annette, Rogers, Kiki Weston, and two nephews; Alan Dunagan and Butch Kimbrough.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers James and Don Kimbrough and a sister Cleta Dunagan.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 27, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead with Pastor Joe Blevins officiating. At Mrs. Frye’s request her ashes will be spread over the West Texas desert. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Charles Arthur Freet

Charles Arthur Freet died on June 26, 1985 in Dallas, Texas of heart arrest and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas on June 28, 1985. He was born on May 14, 1922 in Fort Stockton, Texas the only child of Vera Rollins and Arthur T. Freet.

Charles Arthur Freet served in the Army in the European Theatre during World War II , attaining the rank of Staff Seargent. He attended Tyler Junior College for two years. Charles married Thelma Dolores Bowden (daughter of Cora Griselda Hervey Bowden and Thomas Ulric Bowden) on November 5, 1948 in Corsicana, Texas. The couple had two children, Charles Arthur Freet, Jr. and Thomas Gregory Freet.

Charles worked for Southwestern Bell for 30 years in locations including Corsicana, Tyler, Dallas, Terrell, and Longview before he had to take a disability retirement 13 years ago which was brought about by kidney failure. Despite being on dialysis three days each week, Charles worked part time for the last eight years as director of development of the First Baptist Academy in Dallas where he raised funds and helped find support for scholarships.

Charles is survived by his sons: Charles A. Freet, Jr. of Dallas and Thomas G. Freet and wife Janice Deanne McKay Freet of Longview, Texas; and by his mother Vera Rollins Freet of Lubbock, Texas. Charles was predeceased by his wife Thelma who died September 5, 1983.

Alex Fages , Former foreman at winery dies in car accident

Alex Fages, who was the foreman of St. Genevieve Vineyards for many years, died April 4, 2006, as a result of a car accident in Porto-Vecchio, Corsica April 4th. He was 71.

Francisco M. "Frisco" Fabela III

Francisco M. ``Frisco'' Fabela III, 36, of Fort Stockton, a contract legal assistant, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, in Fort Stockton. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery . Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Parents, Frank and Maggie Fabela of Fort Stockton; brothers, Edward Fabela of Fort Stockton and George Fabela of Fort Stockton; sisters, Leticia Fabela of Fort Stockton, Rosario Terrazas of Midland and Mary Cabezuela of San Angelo.

Vicente P. Flores

Vicente P. Flores, 80, of Fort Stockton, a retired ranch hand, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Fort Stockton. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery . Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Big Lake and had lived in Fort Stockton for 79 years. He was Catholic.
