Maria Christina Ybarra, 66, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. Prayer Service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Kingdom Hall. Graveside Service will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Mt. Olive Memorial Park .
She was born June 26, 1939, in Mexico. She married Eulalio Ybarra in 1984 in Del Rio, Texas. She had worked as a seamstress, housekeeper and more recently as a nurses aide provider for the Del Rio Nurses Unlimited. She was a Jehovah Witness.

She is survived by her husband: Eulalio Ybarra of Sheffield, Texas; 2 daughters: Alma Soto of Big Spring, and Yolanda Barrera of Buffalo, New York; 2 sons: Maria Villareal and Rodrigo Villareal, both of Mexico; 2 sisters: Armandina Gutierrez of San Antonio and Monica Cedillo of Mexico; 3 brothers: Daniel Delgado of Robert Lee, Guillermo Delgado of Mexico and Reyes Delgado of Brownwood; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Fayette Yates

Fayette Yates, 83, of Tuscola, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away Thursday, April 5. Born Nov. 24, 1923, to I.G. "Cap" Yates, Jr., and Lela Yates, Fayette was one of three children. He married Dita DuRoss on Jan. 2, 1982.

A worship service and celebration of Fayette's life was held Monday, April 9, at the Hamil Family Funeral Home in Abilene. Burial followed at the Iberis Cemetery.

Fayette was born near Fort Stockton. His early years were spent on a ranch in Jack County, and later in Alpine. The Yates family connection to West Texas oil is historic. As a result of family ties to the oil industry, the city of Iraan was named for his grandparents, Ira and Ann Yates.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Yates of Tuscola; five daughters and two sons, Toddi Janie Beazley and husband Bill of Tecumseh, Cindy Darby of Abilene, Ellen Gaston and husband Mike of Rowlett; Lori White and husband Jason of Tuscola, Mary Jeaan Maki and husband Jeri of Dallas, Brad Caskey and wife Janae of Abilene, and Ricky Wedeking and wife Sharon of Stamford.

Fayette looked forward with great anticipation to every visit with his 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Conservancy for the Yates Family Endowment Fund, 1933 C.R. 299, Gonzales, TX 78629.

Born February 22, 1981, in Midland, Len was the son of Choya and Sandy Young, Fort Stockton. He was a student and had been a resident of Fort Stockton for 16 years, moving from Round Rock.

Len was a drummer in the Fort Stockton high school band and was a Special Olympics medalist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

His parents, Choya and Sandy Young, Fort Stockton; his brother CJ Young and friend Kate Dutler, New Braunfels; his sister, Crystal Young, Alpine survive. His grandmother, Willetta "Sis" Bleviews, New Home and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held March 12 at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Dave McFadden officiated. Interment was in East Hill Cemetery . Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Temple. Arrangements were under the direction of Fort Stockton Funeral Home

Florence "Potsy" Yockey, 94, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1995, at Osteopathic Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of Christ in Fort Stockton with Harold Durham officiating. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Menard and moved to Fort Worth from Fort Stockton in 1992. She was a member of Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Emma Cope of Midland and Thelma Goodwin of Fort Worth; six grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren

Fort Stockton Man Dies In Big Spring

Archie Newton Yockey, 70, of Fort Stockton, retired water well driller, died Monday morning in Big Spring Veterans Hospital where he had been a patient eight months.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Stockton Church of Christ with burial in East Hill Cemetery directed by Owen Funeral Home.

Mr. Yockey was born in Fayetteville, Ark. Sept. 30, 1896. He was a World War I veteran and a Church of Christ member.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; two daughters, Mrs. John Cope of Fort Stockton and Mrs. Russell Goodwin of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Steeves of Chanute, Kan., Mrs. Robert Anderson of Wichita, Kan. and Mrs. Maude Fritz of Collinsville, Okla.; a brother, Bern (Vern) Yockey, recently retired from the Air Force; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
