Absalom Giddens. First Giddens to come to Red River County. Came ca 1829-30. Never married and keep moving. He was in area of Camp County at some point in time. Do not know where he is buried. He was born ca 1801 and died ca 1842. I guess since he was single, he was the point man for the migration to Texas. Absalom was the 3rd child of Reuben and Nancy Stratton Giddens (younger brother to Richard F born in 1798) |
