B Cemetery
Shawnee B Cemetery, 1917,"This
cemetery is located in the southeast quadrant of Red River County,
Texas. GPS COORDINATES: Datum WGS84: 33 Deg 29.088N, 94 Deg 50.679W.
From Boxelder take FM 44 east for 2.3 miles to the intersection
with CR 4415 on the left. Take CR 4415 north for 9/10 miles and
the cemetery is on the right on church property and just down
the hill. On the reverse side of the marker for Eugene Lee is
carved 'Donated the land for this cemetery in 1879.' A deed dated
2 Sep 1929 and filed on 29 Nov 1960 in Book CH Vol 220 Page 343
conveys 1 acre of the Abram Wagley survey from Rhoda Lee et al
to Shawnee Cemetery. The oldest marked grave is that of Alberta
Waller who died in 1917. This cemetery was surveyed by Lawrence
and Sue Dale on 11 Jan 1999 on a cold and very windy day. We
were on the site on 12 Apr 2003 and took the GPS Coordinates.
We visited the site again on 18 Dec 2003 and did a re walk of
the cemetery adding new burials and noting marker changes."
