I am looking for marriage records and land deeds on Henry TYSON and Elizabeth TYSON. They are buried on their old farm near Cunningham, Tx in some graves that are all but lost to the family and to the current land owner. Markers are broken but still there and dates go back to Henry being born in 1818 and died april 28, 1883. Elizabeth TYSON was born in 1812 and died in 1877. Any information or a point in the right direction will be most appreciated. These two people are my husband's 2nd great grandparents on his father's side. Their daughter (Elizabeth TYSON) married John N KEITH and they had Grover Cleveland KEITH who is my husband's grandfather. John died when grover was about 2 and Elizabeth TYSON KEITH married Ed HARDIN. She had more children but then divorced him. She lived and raised her family on her parents farm in Cunningham, Texas where Grover KEITH and several of his siblings also raised their families. Most of the farm has now been sold and is owned by a large landowner. The 2 graves are on that section of the land. My husband's aunt still owns a portion of the land. I am just trying to establish when the TYSON'S came to Texas in order to trace the family back further. thanks, Monique Keith

I am searching for the name of my ggreatgrandmother. She was married to A.H WHITE in either 1893 or 1894. They had a daughter in Red River County on Febraury 1 1895, her name was Oda Lee WHITE. But I can't find out where they were married or what her name was. The story goes that my greatgrandfather came home one day and she was gone, an the baby which was my grandmother Oda Lee WHITE was found sitting in the middle of the bed. The tale goes that she was taken by indians. But it's strange that no one seems to know what her name was. She had listed on a delayed birth certificate that her mother is Mary Francis FREELAND, but that is the name of his second wife, her step- mother. I'm at a dead end does anyone have a suggestion or information. Any help or info would be appreicated

I am researching the descendants and ancestors of Francis Marion BLYTHE, my maternal great-grandfather. Family tradition suggests that this BLYTHE line came from Virginia. I would appreciate any guidance and help. This is BLYTHE posting version 1/25/98. Land records show that James BLYTHE first arrived in Texas in 1837. He was issued a conditional certificate in Bowie County for 320 acres on 4 December 1843. An unconditional certificate was issued in Red River County on 6 January 1845. James probably came from Arkansas or TN. Can anyone connect James with Francis Marion BLYTHE? Washington County, Texas, 1860 Census information and a family Bible indicate that Francis M. was born in Tennessee on 14 May 1821 and married Virginia Lockhart HARRISON in Pulaski County, Arkansas on 12 April 1842. Virginia L. was born in Alabama May 16, 1823. Francis and Virginia's children who have been identified were: Cynthia Almajoria, born in Arkansas 5 May 1843; Frances Carrol, born in Texas 5 November 1846; Mary Virginia, born in Texas 14 September 1854; [?] Harrison, born in Texas 25 April 1856; Jo Ann, born in Texas in 1857; my maternal grandmother Sadie "Sallie" Ophelia, born in Texas 15 July 1857; Martha Emilene born in Texas 15 February 1860 and died 23 May 1860. All of the above names except Martha E. were listed on the Washington County, Texas 1860 Census. A penciled note in the family Bible reads, " Arrived Washington [on-the- Brazos, Texas] 1845." It is possible that this refers to the arrival of Francis Marion and family. A 12 year old male (b: 1848) and a 7 year old female (b: 1843) are also listed as being in the BLYTHE household on the 1860 Census and as having the BLYTHE surname. There are no corresponding entries in the Bible for the illegible given names. Virginia L. died 24 April 1861. She is probably buried in Washington County, Texas. Francis M. BLYTHE married V. E. WALSHALL 31 December 1861. They are listed on the 1870 Census. Andrew Jackson BLYTHE, born in Texas 24 February 1866, is listed in the family Bible but has not been identified on the 1860 Census. Andrew J. is probably a child of Francis Marion and V. E. WALSHALL. The 1870 Washington County, Texas, Census lists only initials for given names. Initials are hard to read. Francis M. died 12 April 1878 per the family Bible. Burial locations for the BLYTHE line are believed to be in Washington County. Some death dates must be verified. Sadie "Sallie" O. BLYTHE married Daniel Wilson CLINE in Brenham, Washington County, Texas 20 January 1885. Maud Marie CLINE, one of their children, and my mother, married William H. LOHMAN in Dallas, Texas. William was born in Kansas City, MO in 1891 and baptized Wilhelm Heinrich LOHMANN in St. Peters Deutsch Evangeliche Kirche, Kansas City, MO in 1895. Other descendant surnames acquired by marriage are: J. B. SMALLEY married Jo Ann BLYTHE; EDWARDS to Mary Virginia Blythe. These surnames were acquired by marriage into the CLINE / LOHMAN line. STEVENSON, SHANKS, HALL, ENGLES, STRAWN, MULKEY, CASPARY, ESTES, CAREY. Other postings relating to this BLYTHE line have been made using the surnames LOHMANN and CLINE. If you have any questions or information please contact John LOHMAN in San Antonio, Texas. Thanks to all for the help. jlohman@txdirect.net

I am seeking information on Robert TAYLOR. We have tax reciepts dating from 1905 indicating his home town as Bagwell Texas. He may have operated a ferry on the Red River between Arkansas and Texas around 1905. He was married to Lizzie (Skinner) TAYLOR and they had a daughter Janey Elizabeth. He may possibly have ran a saloon in the BAGWELL area as well.
